The recent fires in Altadena have devastated our community, leaving many families—especially single mothers—without homes, jobs, or access to essential resources. In times of crisis, support is critical, but in order to provide the right help, we need to hear directly from those who have been impacted. That’s why we are launching a Single Mothers' Needs Assessment—a crucial step in understanding the challenges you are facing and ensuring we can connect you with the resources you need.
Why Is This Assessment Important?
Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every mother’s situation is unique, and we want to make sure the aid we provide is tailored to real needs. By filling out this assessment, you are helping us:
✅ Identify urgent needs such as housing, childcare, financial assistance, and employment support.
✅ Connect mothers with the right resources, including grants, donated goods, mental health services, and job placement programs.
✅ Advocate for long-term support by partnering with community organizations, businesses, and donors who want to help.
Who Should Participate?
If you are a single mother living in Altadena or the surrounding areas and have been affected by the fires—whether through the loss of your home, job, or essential services—we need your input. Your experience is invaluable in shaping the kind of relief and assistance our community can offer.
Additionally, if you know a single mother who has been impacted, please encourage her to participate. The more voices we hear, the better we can serve those in need.
How Will the Results Be Used?
After gathering responses, we will:
📌 Prioritize immediate relief efforts based on the most urgent needs identified.
📌 Distribute resources efficiently by matching families with organizations that can provide direct assistance.
📌 Develop long-term recovery programs to support single mothers in rebuilding their lives beyond the immediate crisis.
📌 Engage donors and partners to fundraise and collect items that meet the specific needs of affected families.
How to Participate
The assessment is quick and easy to complete. If you’re a single mother impacted by the fires, we invite you to take 5-10 minutes to fill it out. Your voice is powerful, and your input will make a real difference in how we respond to this crisis.
Together, We Can Rebuild
In difficult times, communities come together to lift one another up. By sharing your experience, you are helping to create a stronger, more responsive support system for all the single mothers affected by this tragedy.
Your story matters. Your needs matter. And we are here to help.
Let’s rebuild, together. 💜
